Please note that the $63 million rehabilitation of the westbound Interstate 70 Missouri River Bridge (Blanchette Bridge) will keep the westbound bridge closed from November 2012 until Fall 2013. Motorists should consider Route 370 as an alternate. Route 370 connects from I-270 in St. Louis County to I-70 in St Peters in St Charles County. Vendors and bargain hunters mark your calendars for Saturday, October 6 when the Family Arena parking lot becomes a thrifty shopper’s paradise at the St. Charles County Autumn Garage Sale. The sale takes place, rain or shine, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entry fee for shoppers is $5 per car. Walk-ups are $5 per person.

Vendors interested in selling must register for a sale space of two parking spaces (approx 18’ x 19’). Space is available first-come, first-served upon receipt of a qualified registration.

Vendor space is $10 for county residents. A fee of $20 applies for non-county resident vendors. Retail and commercial business are $30. Electricity is not provided. Items prohibited from sale include, but are not limited to: guns, contraband, automobiles, fireworks, food/beverage, tires, and animals. Vendor setup begins at 6:00 a.m. on the day of the sale. Per federal guidelines items using lead based paint are also prohibited. For more info on lead based items, log on to CDC.gov.

The sale also offers a unique opportunity for environmental stewardship. Not only can residents enjoy a summer day and shop for hours without driving from sale to sale, but each household item purchased encourages reuse and reduces waste that may otherwise end up in landfills.
